For more than sixty years, our Central Florida Events Center overlooking Lake Lily and conveniently located in the heart of North Orlando – Maitland, Florida, has brought people together.  Many cherished Memories were made.

It began with a simple but powerful belief: Maitland needed a place for friends and families to gather.  In 1962, a determined group of residents set out to make that belief real. They did not wait for government funding. Instead, neighbors raised money the old-fashioned way—through pancake breakfasts, spaghetti dinners, small donations, and a shared conviction that a gathering place could strengthen a community.

Their efforts led to the opening of the Maitland Civic Center on February 14, 1965. Since then, generations have come to celebrate weddings and milestones, honor loved ones, meet, learn, perform, connect, and many cherished memories were made.

Today, known as Venue on Lake Lily, that original spirit is still very much alive. The building and its spaces are being thoughtfully renewed, with its mid-century modern character, beautiful terrazzo floors, lakeside veranda, elevated stage, and flexible event spaces are being preserved and readied for a new generation. Within it is a professional team dedicated to exceptional events and genuine hospitality.

But now Venue on Lake Lily is more than a beautiful place to host events, large and small, intimate celebrations to outside festivals and create lasting memories.  It is a non-government owned, 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a purpose beyond its walls. We have embraced a philanthropic/charitable mission and are determined to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. In addition to the Venue’s existing support of other non-profits, we are currently focusing on three worthy charities.

  Ten percent of our gross rental fee is set aside to support these special non-profits that serve children and their families.  Every event here joins a legacy of community care and passionate philanthropy.
